| Established
in 1946 by the late Ivan and Dulcie Tickle, Siesta is still owned
and run by the Tickle family. Siesta has developed a distinct
character over these years which is reflected in its casual atmosphere
and natural spacious grounds.
Siesta lies along 400 meters of Geographe Bay's sparkling water
and white sandy beach. With its parkland of lawns and peppermint
trees flowing onto the beach, the perfect setting for enjoying
the Bay is at your finger tips. The self contained villas and
chalets face the beach, with most boasting fantastic views across
the bay. In the evenings barbequing and a chance to experience the moonlight
across the water are part of living by the bay at Siesta.
The beach and seabed beyond is gradually sloping, clean and safe
for children. Hire row boats, a private jetty and private boat
ramp enable fishermen and swimmers to enjoy the tranquil waters
of Geographe Bay. Fishing both close to shore and further out
is good in season (especially spring) and drop netting for crabs
is best in the winter and early spring months.
Siesta is well known for its numerous items of exciting adventure
play equipment including the flying fox, Tarzan swing and more.
There are also many more subtle items of play equipment for the
really young ones. Tennis courts are free to use and table tennis
can be played in the games room.
